Fostering or Adopting a German Shepherd
Just a little FYI: We are a rescue, not breeders, we do not sell pups.
The cost to adopt one of our dogs is $450.00 - This goes towards the desexing, vaccination and parasite treatments our dogs need so they are ready for new homes.
We have application forms that can be filled out so when a dog comes in that you think might be right for you, you can send us a message and we already have your information to help us decide if your home is best home for the dog. We will then organise a meet and greet and if that goes well we do a trial, foster to adopt.
Having said that we let the dogs choose.
Please Note: We are not a public facilty and do not allow visits.
Most of the time when we get a dog we get little or no information about the dogs behaviour, we assess this to the best of our abilities, we can not guarantee the behaviour or temperament of any dog.
We will only let a dog go on trial with someone if we feel that there is a strong possibility that the dog will remain there as these dogs have been through enough upheaval. Sometimes they have been in three or more homes.
If we say that the dog would be best suited to a home with no other pets it is because of their behaviour has indicated that this is best for the dog.
We will not rehome a female shepherd into a home with an existing female dog due to aggression issues.
This is a firm rule, please dont ask as refusal often offends.
While we will make every consideration of your application, please understand that the dogs long term health and happiness is our objective. Keep in mind, while one dog may not be suited to your home, another may be a perfect fit.
So if you were interested in offering one of our rescues a home they must be allowed to sleep inside and be a part of the family as we have found being pack animals this is where they are happiest.
